« Unconventional Hurricane Assistance | Main | Rebuilding New Orleans: The Debate Begins »

Jonathan Potts

The problem here is that in order to maintain a good image, the other convention centers are offering to "swap" conventions with New Orleans once the city is back on its feet. Which means the only thing such a move would do would be to bring in short-term revenues at the expense of long-term business. Unless, of course, Pittsburgh officials and others are cynically banking on the fact that it might take years for New Orleans to be a desirable location for a convention.
