The Blog that Ate Pittsburgh

A local reporter interviewed me a few days ago for a story about blogs and how they impact the local political environment. I sort of downplayed said impact. But I did so mostly with regard to my own efforts, which amount to a hill of beans. A really small hill, actually. Of bad-tasting beans.

I had nothing like this in mind. My gosh. Jim McIntire is beating the crap out of city hall. [Update: I of course mean John McIntire. Thanks to the anonymous reader for pointing that out below.] Right now, I would say that the most important editorial writing in the city is going on at MacYapper.

I don't know him personally. In fact, I don't even have any real insight into his politics. Maybe you think he's a genius. Or an idiot. None of that matters nearly as much as the fact that he is making things happen.

That's two votes for jagoff. But I remain agnostic. Never met the guy.

And I might add that his level of jagoff-ness in entirely tangential to the larger issue. I knew a lot of really effective editorial writers when I lived in DC. I saw no direct relationshipp between their effectiveness and their niceness. If anything, said attributes seemed distributed in inverse proportions.

Mc "Small Obnoxious Yippie Dog" got the boot from the night time radio graveyard that was KDKA. They now have tape delayed reruns of the right of center liberatarian out of Hot-lanta, Neal Boortz. This is a clear case of the problem of having too much free time, or The Devils's hands are idle playthings.

BTW. By my definition, Mc-SOY Dog is not a "blogger", he just has a web site. True "blogs" allow comment and response by readers. He is just another pathetic comment coward.
