Otis, Mayberry R.F.D.

Ever since Stoney's closed the brewery in Smithton and Joe Piccirilli stopped paying his water bills at Iron City, I've been a Straub drinker. As American pale lagers go, it's excellent, and it's a bargain.

Plus, you can still get 16-ounce returnable bottles, which means no rinsing out recyclables ... just take the empties back to the beer store.

Erie Brewing Co.'s stuff is good, too. We killed most of a 24-bottle sample case on Independence Day. I'm not sure if it's actually made in Erie, or brewed someplace else. I'd look it up, but I'm feelish a little woosy ... but I'sh not peep like shome drinkle thunk I am.
